I'm Running!

Today, I am excited to announce that I am running for open Washington State House of Representatives seat (Position 2) in the 24th Legislative District!
First, I want to thank Representative Steve Tharinger for his many years of hard work and service to our district. His strong leadership and how active he’s been in our community has really inspired me. His work has made a huge impact on our entire state and I’m grateful for his willingness to represent all of us.
This decision is deeply personal for me. I grew up in Sequim, and four generations of my family live here, so I am invested in the policies that affect all of us. This community has shaped who I am today, and it is where my husband and I are raising our daughter, Nora.
She is the reason I’m running. I want Nora to grow up in a place where she can safely walk to school, afford to live, find a good-paying job, and enjoy the beauty of the region. I want her to grow up seeing her mom as a strong woman who is willing to do the hard work to stand up for her community. I want her to believe in herself like I have learned to believe in myself. And I want her to know what it looks like to make a real difference.
We need young, passionate, and pragmatic people willing to step up and run for office. Our district also has not had a woman represent us in the legislature for 15 years, and that perspective matters.
I’m a 28-year-old mom, a former Senate staff member, union advocate, and high school Government teacher, and I know how the legislative process works. I know Olympia and I know I can hit the ground running on day one to move good ideas into real policy.
I invite you to please join my campaign and donate $24 for the 24th today!
